Modern Slavery Act

Curtis Wool Direct Holdings Ltd’s primary raw material is greasy wool of which the majority is sourced from the UK, Ireland, Norway, New Zealand and Europe. A large percentage of this wool is bought at public auction or through other third parties where there is no direct contact with the
wool growers themselves. The majority of wool is transported to our scouring facility, Haworth Scouring in Bradford, England where it is either sold or further processed and subsequently sold to our customers.

Curtis Wool Direct Holdings Ltd has contacted all of its regular suppliers around the world advising them of their responsibility to ensure neither they, nor any of their supply chains engage in slavery and/or human trafficking as defined in The Modern Slavery Act 2015. In addition, Curtis Wool Direct Holdings Ltd have placed a clause in our purchase contract stipulating compliance with the Act is a prerequisite of the purchase contract. Both our production factories, Haworth Scouring and Haworth Combing are also in full compliance.

Our trading/procurement team have built up strong relationships with suppliers over many years. Whilst no formal appraisal has been carried out, we are not aware of any supplier who does not comply with the strictness of the laws within a given country regarding slavery and human trafficking. All of the team are fully aware of the need for screening when selecting new suppliers.

At this time, we are not aware of any instances ni which slavery or human trafficking has occurred within the wool trade industry ni the countries we buy wool from. As stated ni the outset of this statement, the vast majority of our wool si sourced from countries that have long and established laws against slavery and human trafficking.
